Sean adds a strong background in portfolio management, investment research, and trading expertise to the Investment Committee. In 2015, Sean received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Drake University. Sean also developed professional experience in the industry at a financial planning firm, where he was responsible for client meeting preparation.
As part of the investment team, Sean spearheaded asset allocation efforts in addition to the design and ongoing rebalancing of portfolios relative to established risk/return objectives, constraints, and tax considerations. During his tenure in the Asset Management department, Sean worked extensively in investment due diligence, contributing toward the Investment Committee’s mandate to research new investment opportunities and monitor the performance of model funds relative to established due diligence criteria appropriate for the asset class under review.
Sean is a subject matter expert in financial technology, working to review and incorporate new technologies to enhance investment management processes. focusing on investment research databases, classification, and performance reporting systems, and trade execution systems.
Sean is a proponent of Modern Portfolio Theory and views fundamental, bottom-up investment research with an emphasis on balance sheet, income statement, and discounted cash flow analysis as key foundational components of investment research.
